If you’re blessed by still having your mom in your life, you don’t need cash to warm her heart on Mother’s Day because all she needs is you! So, give her the gift of your time. Here are 10

no-cost ideas to get you started:

  1. Write your mom a letter of appreciation for all she has done for you.
  2. Present her with a gratitude jar filled with the time, values, and skills she has given you.
  3. Show your mom you recognize that being a mother isn’t always “a walk in the park.”

Take a walk in the park together!

  1. Give mom a DIY spa day with a manicure and pedicure.
  2. Make her a homemade scrapbook of family memories.
  3. Host a family game night with the people she loves.
  4. Make a coupon book with coupons she can use for your help and service.
  5. Clean the bathrooms or clean up the yard and patio to get it ready for summer.
  6. Create a scavenger hunt with clues that lead to no-cost surprises like notes of thanks.
  7. Invite family members to anonymously write their most memorable moment on paper and place it in a bowl or hat. Spark fun conversations by reading the notes out loud and guessing whose memory it is.

Our Lady of Peace understands that Mother’s Day can be difficult if your mom has died. An act of kindness to someone who needs it on this day will bless them and may bring you comfort. Do this in honor of your mom and the values she instilled in you. Amelia Erhardt once said, A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions, and the roots spring up and make new trees.”
