August 10th was a day of remembrance and love in our beautiful memorial garden. Families and friends of those who passed away in our care gathered with OLP staff to celebrate the lives of their loved ones with a butterfly release.
A monarch’s journey is often seen as a spiritual pilgrimage, as is person’s journey to heaven. When butterflies are released, they represent souls fluttering to paradise. And, when they land on a hand or a shoulder prior to ascension, it is often interpreted as a final goodbye.
