THE GIFT OF VOLUNTEERING
Our Lady of Peace Volunteers have an opportunity to share their time, talents and gifts with our residents and patients. We have a variety of volunteer positions, ranging from Companion, Vigil, Respite, Meal Assistance, Pet Therapy, Bereavement, Events, etc. Volunteers offer their services in our Residential Hospice, Community Hospice and Home Health Care.
COMMITMENT
We serve patients wherever they call HOME within a 25-mile radius of our 21-bed Residential Hospice, including private homes, assisted living, memory care communities, group homes, etc. Center for Medicare and Medicaid consider volunteers “unpaid staff”. Before considering to volunteer with Our Lady of Peace we ask that you are able to commit to the following guidelines:
- If you have lost a loved one recently, we ask that you wait one year to volunteer.
- You must be 18+ years of age to volunteer.
- You are able to volunteer for a minimum of 1 year.
- You are able to complete the onboarding process:
- Phone Interview
- Online Hospice Training (8 – 11 hours)
- Classroom Orientation (4 hours)
- Background Check and Fingerprinting
- Two-Step Mantoux (TB) Screening
- Additional Job Specific Training
- You are able to complete the Mandatory Annual Training each year.
